Our
Story

For three generations, our family has farmed and ranched on the sandy banks of Delaware Creek and the black land of Clear Boggy Creek. Throughout those generations, we have been a part of every sector of the cattle industry: cow-calf, backgrounding, feedlot, commercial bred heifers, direct-to-consumer beef… But our favorite is selling quality Angus bulls to commercial cattlemen.

Today, the cow herd consists of 400 Angus cows with a focus on OUR world fertility and production.

  • Our world is ryegrass and clover in the spring and Bermuda, Bahia, and native grasses during the summer.

  • Our world is range cubes out on the prairie and 6–10% protein-quality hay.

  • Our world is producing the most pounds we can with the least amount of inputs.

  • Our world is simple: the cows work for us; we don’t work for the cows.

Our vision for bulls that work within this region is complex in today’s Angus world. They need to:

  • Have a dam that lasts into her teens.

  • Have acceptable pre-weaning growth without creep.

  • Have explosive post-weaning growth once they’re on feed.

  • Have a multigenerational level of consistency through type, kind, pedigree, and performance so that once they go to you, the commercial cattleman, you will have a consistent, uniform calf crop to market.

Ultimately, our vision for our bulls is for them to work for you until their impact can’t be utilized anymore in your herd, i.e., you’ve retained to many daughters or created son/sons to take his place.
That’s a great herd bull, and those are the ones we want carrying the EV on their hip.

How do we make our vision a reality?

  • We focus on the good: old cows that never miss and raise big calves

  • Bulls that are extremely consistent in the traits we value.

  • We listen to our customers when they tell us what genetics are working and lasting.

  • We travel the country looking for genetics that will complement our base.

We’re open and honest with everything we do.
